We’ll serve alongside local churches, participate in community outreach, and complete hands-on SERVE projects in partnership with Compassion Services International. These opportunities will allow us to meet practical needs, build relationships, and share hope with the communities we visit.
We’ll also have time to experience the incredible beauty of Belize, including a day exploring one of its tropical islands and snorkeling in the Caribbean waters of the Belize Barrier Reef, one of the world’s most remarkable marine ecosystems. Matthew is a seasoned leader with more than two decades of experience in healthcare administration and ministry leadership. A graduate of Hannibal-LaGrange University and William Woods University, he earned both his bachelor’s degree and MBA Summa Cum Laude and holds board certification as a Certified Administrator of Surgery Centers (CASC). He is also an ordained minister with the United Pentecostal Church International (UPCI).
Matthew began his career in healthcare marketing before advancing to serve as Administrator of a multi-specialty ambulatory surgery center and anesthesia group, leading multi-million-dollar operations and achieving record financial and regulatory performance.
In 2011, he transitioned into full-time ministry with UPCI Youth Ministries, where he served as General Youth Secretary and led the Apostolic Youth Corps program, developing a deep and lasting burden for global missions. He currently serves as Senior Pastor of The Sanctuary in Columbus, Indiana, a revival-focused church with a special emphasis on reaching beyond its four walls to spread the gospel. He also serves as Executive Director of Compassion Services International, having first served on the organization’s board. In this role, he helps lead efforts to bring hope to those in need through humanitarian outreach, disaster relief, education, and medical missions.
Brianna (Bri) Wolterman serves as the Administrator of SERVE Global, supporting the organization’s communication, coordination, creative, and administrative needs as it equips and mobilizes servant leaders for global missions. She is a graduate of IU Indianapolis with a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies and holds a TEFL/TESOL certification. Professionally, she serves as a Marketing and Communications Director for a youth-serving nonprofit, where she leads marketing, communications, creative initiatives, project management, and community engagement. She also owns a creative small business focused on photography and design.
Brianna’s passion for missions began through 10 years of serving in Spanish ministry, where she developed a heart for cross-cultural ministry and serving people from different backgrounds. That passion inspired her to pursue global missions, serving with the Apostolic Youth Corps in Ghana, India, and South Africa; participating in UPCI Global Missions' Next Steps Program in Tanzania; and ministering in Colombia. She has also served with Compassion Services International as a CSi Responder documenting humanitarian work in Guyana and participated in church-building and humanitarian outreach in the Dominican Republic.
Through these experiences, Brianna has developed a deep passion for global missions and compassionate service. She is grateful for the opportunity help others discover how God can use their gifts to serve, support missionaries, and bring hope through humanitarian outreach, evangelism, and discipleship.
Morgan Sanders serves as the Administrative Assistant at The Sanctuary Church, where she has been serving since 2023. In her role, Morgan supports the church’s day-to-day administrative operations and works alongside staff and ministry leaders to coordinate communication, events, programs, and various initiatives that help advance the mission of The Sanctuary.
With a strong attention to detail and a passion for organization and creativity, Morgan enjoys working behind the scenes to help ministries operate effectively and create meaningful experiences for the church family and community. She is especially passionate about using her gifts to serve others and contribute to the overall mission and vision of The Sanctuary.
In addition to her role at The Sanctuary, Morgan is part of Serve Global, a missions-focused team dedicated to serving communities, meeting practical needs, and sharing the love of Christ through local and international outreach. Her involvement with Serve Global has provided opportunities to serve alongside others in humanitarian and missions efforts and has strengthened her passion for reaching people beyond the walls of the church.
Morgan is grateful for the opportunity to serve at The Sanctuary and is committed to helping create an environment where people can connect, grow in their faith, and live out their calling to serve others.
